About Spades: Partners Classic
Spades: Partners Classic is the four-player partnership card game that has filled kitchen tables and college dorms for generations, laid out on a deep navy felt. You and the player across from you are a team. After the deal everyone bids how many of the thirteen tricks they expect to win, and the two bids add up to your team contract. Spades are always trump, so a small spade beats any ace of another suit, but nobody may lead spades until one has been played. Make your contract and score ten points per trick bid plus one point for every extra trick, but collect ten of those extra bags and you lose a hundred. Fall short and the whole contract comes off your score. Feeling brave? Bid nil and promise to take no tricks at all for a hundred-point bonus, while your partner tries to cover you. The first team to 500 wins. Opponents and your partner are smart: the Hard AI counts bids, covers a nil partner, dodges bags and sets your contract when it can. A suggested bid, hints, undo and auto-play help you learn, and live online tables let you team up with real players.
How to play
Bid how many tricks you think you will win (the suggested bid is highlighted; Nil means none). Then play one card per trick, following suit if you can. Spades are trump. Click a card to play (tap twice or drag up on phones). Make your team contract and avoid bags. H = hint, U = undo.
